I’m a middln’ to fair long-time birder, born, raised and living most of my life in San Antonio, Texas. My interest in birding started as a child with an obsession for every kind of critter and creepy crawly imaginable. I am a 1986 graduate of Texas A & M University with degrees in Parks & Recreation and Wildlife Science/Natural Resource Conservation (I wish I could say I was working in my field, but that’s a story in itself.) Birders always talk about their “spark” bird, the one that started it all. Well, I will always be grateful to a spark birder. It is safe to say that my ornithology professor, Dr. Keith Arnold, changed my life forever. 25 years later I’m still birding (with a long gap due to the birth of my kids), still learning and forever spending time watching the birds of the air!

About
I’m Arnold Pfrommer’s half-sister!
I’ve been told of Arnold’s death,
and I feel the loss deeply….
He and I were not in contact for the past 18
years. Sad! He ‘disowned’ me and my
brother after our mother’s death!!!!
I suspect his ‘birding’ colleagues were his
FAMILY!
I did a GOOGLE and through surfbirds
I saw your note re Arnold.
I do not TWITTER….
hope this reaches you…….
I would like to know more about your
time with Arnold!
Marie/Mickey Souleyret
I’m very sorry for the loss of your brother Arnold Pfrommer, especially due to the pain of unresolved family conflict, however, I believe you are confusing your brother with someone else I referred to in my post, Dr. Keith Arnold. I did not know Arnold Pfrommer, despite the 2 degrees of separation that seems to exist in the birding world. Sorry to disappoint but I hope you are able to find some closure.
